Phone Chat

I left the boys with Chloe for a short time the other day while I was running errands.....it was not long before I got a call on my cell - if you would have been in the other aisle of our local grocery store - this is what you would have heard (well, only my side of the conversation really, but I'll fill you in on the other side as well!!)

Hello?
Hi Mom, Chloe needs some STERN WORDS!
Ok, put her on.
Chloe?
Hi Mommy.
Are you being good for the boys?
Uh-huh.
Are you obeying them? (I am desperate this point - I've got to get her to be good or the boys will NEVER agree to watch her again!!!)
Yes.
Ok, well, you need to listen to them.
Otay Mommy (she's never gotten the OK right!!)
Ok, when I get home I want to hear that you were good.
Otay, I am being good.
I love you - see you soon.
Luv you Mommy.

I'm getting ready to close my cell phone when I hear

Mommy??
Yes, Chloe?
The boys are being bad.....

I think Mom's need unlimited phone minutes on their cell phones!!!!!

So did you sort out the boys just as the princess required.
She is priceless and I am sure she has her brothers wrapped around her fingers.

Love it.

I can't wait until my 10-year-old can babysit. I think I used to babysit at 10, but mine is just not ready. I'd hate to think of the phone calls I'd get.

Hi Becky,
Thanks for stopping by our blog and commenting. Your site is great and you have a beautiful family. This phone conversation reminds me of many that I've had with my 4 year old Mia. The only difference is that she's usually telling on her daddy :0)

Oh dear, I get some similar phone calls when I leave Katia home with the kids. :) Tell the boys good job! Sounds like they were trying to maintain order and discipline just as you've taught them.

Just wanted to let you know that the Adoption BlogPost RoundUp round-up is up!

isn't it funny how that "otay" sounds so innocent, but really there are major plans going on in that little mind ...

Hilarious!

And it looks like we all want to know what the REAL story was! Did you ever get to the bottom of things?

I can't wait to meet these kids! They are just too cool -- ALL of 'em!

Becky - that is a hoot! Really wish we lived closer - sounds like our kids have SO much in common!!!

Isn't it grand having built-in babysitters??!!

hey, our girls both say otay..I thought Piper was the only one who sounded like 'Nell', my DH used to say "o-tay-in the way" just like Nell, just to make me giggle! I guess Piper got him back with this one!

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
