Well - it was a rough day at the Bilby house. We decided after much going back and forth that we really needed to get rid of our cat of the last two years. We bought him, raised him from a kitten (and although Joe and I both couldn't stand him), our boys loved him. BUT - he was a very mean cat - he got mad very easily and scratched our kids many times and even drew blood a time or two - SO - when a friend offered us a kitten - we decided it was time for Whiskers to find a new home. It was not easy loading him up and sending him on - the boys were in tears - but we knew it was the best thing for us and for him. It does help that we have this new kitten to ease the pain a bit - and I must say - we love our new kitten, Posh is her name. She is a Himalyan Persian - and LOVES the kids - runs around at their heels all day - and even lets Chloe tote her around - Chloe could never even hardly get near Whiskers so this is fun for her. She asks me all day, "Poshie in my lap??" I love it!!! So here are some pictures....

Oh, she so cute. I love cats, but I am unfortunatly allergic to them. :( Posh looks like she is happy with her family and Chloe looks happy to have her kitty.
Did you see Caroline on Christi's blog (cherryblossombaby). She came to our adoption day picnic after arriving from China with Abbey THE NIGHT BEFORE! Can you believe it? We we surprised, but delighted that she came and Abbey is so cute.
Now we have to catch up with your Christmas decorations! I haven't even made my sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving yet! Sheesh!

That is great! Sophia loves our cat Sasha. (He is Tonkenese) Have a great Thanksgiving....where is that Christmas tree picture? :)
OH, I want a Poshie. Our cats are old and grumpy.
Poshie is adorable!!!!
(We had a kitty that didn't work out, too. We kept her for four years in spite of the fact that she made my husband crazy. He called her "that evil cat". She had to go, though, when she decided that she could no longer avail herself to the litter box. We found another home for her. The new family loved her to pieces (still, do, five years later) and didn't seem to think it was a problem that she would pee in the carpet. I know she is much happier with them, than she would have been with us...they think she is the greatest thing since buttered bread, while, in our household she was viewed with antagonism! ....the funny thing is that we raised her from a kitten, too...it wasn't her UPBRINGING...cats just have their own indelible personalities and temperaments!)
We didn't get to replace our evil cat with an adorable Poshie, though! Our cat had cured my husband forever of any willingness to have a house kitty. Years later, (just last Spring) when we saw two abandoned puppies by the road, way out in the countryside far from any homes, Darcy begged me to stop for them. I knew my husband would die if I brought home two more dogs (we already had two big dogs). But, I couldn't just leave them to be eaten by raccoons or coyotes, either. I told Darcy that maybe we could keep ONE of the puppies to replace the cat she had to give away years ago. She picked WHICH of the two puppies we would keep and we found a terrific home for the other puppy (he is now living with a family full of kids and helps the father herd their cows. Both dogs are born herders and dearly LOVE to herd...large dose of Border Collie in them.). Rivendell (the puppy we kept) is an outside dog and she is so much more loving and delightful to be with than dear old Roo ever was...and, FINALLY, I have been released from the guilt of making our daughter give away her cat!!!
(Kids can make you feel SO GUILTY!)
Yes hes is! Him a layin' right on Chloe. :-]
