She had to go, though, when she decided that she could no longer avail herself to the litter box. We found another home for her. The new family loved her to pieces (still, do, five years later) and didn't seem to think it was a problem that she would pee in the carpet. I know she is much happier with them, than she would have been with us...they think she is the greatest thing since buttered bread, while, in our household she was viewed with antagonism! ....the funny thing is that we raised her from a kitten, too...it wasn't her UPBRINGING...cats just have their own indelible personalities and temperaments!)

We didn't get to replace our evil cat with an adorable Poshie, though! Our cat had cured my husband forever of any willingness to have a house kitty. Years later, (just last Spring) when we saw two abandoned puppies by the road, way out in the countryside far from any homes, Darcy begged me to stop for them. I knew my husband would die if I brought home two more dogs (we already had two big dogs). But, I couldn't just leave them to be eaten by raccoons or coyotes, either. I told Darcy that maybe we could keep ONE of the puppies to replace the cat she had to give away years ago. She picked WHICH of the two puppies we would keep and we found a terrific home for the other puppy (he is now living with a family full of kids and helps the father herd their cows. Both dogs are born herders and dearly LOVE to herd...large dose of Border Collie in them.). Rivendell (the puppy we kept) is an outside dog and she is so much more loving and delightful to be with than dear old Roo ever was...and, FINALLY, I have been released from the guilt of making our daughter give away her cat!!!

(Kids can make you feel SO GUILTY!)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27617218.post-90105673729552649922006-11-26T19:04:00.000-06:002006-11-26T19:04:00.000-06:00Poshie is adorable!!!!Poshie is adorable!!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27617218.post-46061952133438824742006-11-22T11:05:00.000-06:002006-11-22T11:05:00.000-06:00OH, I want a Poshie.
