Everyday a New Day

We are adjusting - life will become a "new" normal - as someone shared with me. So that is what we are working toward - our "new" normal!Dress up at it's best - Chloe is teaching Jada ALL the tricks!

I have no clue what was happening here but it made me laugh! Monkey see, Monkey do!

Jada does not watch tv hardly AT ALL, but when Chloe does - Jada often joins her and sits and watches Chloe. I bet that's entertaining in and of itself!! (Notice Jada's beads?? She has come to think those are just part of getting dressed - they are on each morning!)

This is Jada's latest and greatest - she goes in (all of her own accord) to wake up Micah. She turns on his light (which, according to Micah, paralyzes him!!) and then crawls up in his bed, lies down, and pulls the covers up to her neck and lays beside him. I caught part of it this morning.

Is all rosy?? Nope, Jada and Chloe still fight OFTEN, there is a lot MORE crying in this house - from BOTH girls that are trying to make a somewhat difficult adjustment. I can't even get a shower some mornings until MUCH later than normal. Even school is not back to full strength. But would we trade it - Nope, not MOST days!!! Everyday gets a little better. Jada responds when we say "No" now - and usually stops what she is doing. She doesn't cry every time she is told "no". Hey, those are all big to us and we are grateful for them!!

Jada got fitted for glasses today - next week should be the BIG week. And tomorrow AEA 4 comes to help me with some ideas for what to do with Jada since she isn't speaking much. I know it is soon in our process, but I am feeling like I just need to know the best way to work with her - maybe they'll have some tricks up their sleeves! We are grateful for every little baby step we are making.

The pictures are priceless! I can imagine all the crying and whining with 2 little girls (having 2 little girls of my own) ;) So glad you are having good times too.

Still praying!

New Normal. I like that. So true. Any child brings new facets and it takes time to fit it all together. You are doing great. Heard you had a night out. Maybe the hubs needs one too. BTW, Noah is still a monkey see, monkey do kind of guy. We just love him so much. God sent us just the right kiddos!

As much as it appeared all rosy last year when we first came home with Josie, my two girls struggled to share "mom". The crying and whining (even from the 10 year old) was tiresome. We learned that our new normal, wasn't the same normal.

Continued blessings to your family and all your special kiddos. I can't wait to see Jada in her new glasses.

looks like you're coming along. Maybe Jada will want to wear her glasses more because her big sister does too. that would be nice. :)

Have you tried signing with Jada? That seems to be working with our Sarah because there is not much intelligible speech. We use Signing Time.

Those first few months home are always the worst. You're past the thrill and emotion of the travel and meeting and adoption and now are left to deal with the transition. It does make you better appreciate it when things go right.

Here's wishing you better days ahead and enough great moments to outweigh the difficult ones!!

Still praying for you all our Bilby friends! Thank you for the candid posts as we know how to specifically pray for these two princesses to adjust. We have high hopes for those glasses next week! Anna absolutely loves to wake her brothers up to this day! One day at a time is just right! I read in my devotion book this morning: " Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there. Remember the promise of My continual Presence" Go gently through this day.

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
