I have been thinking so much about our reunion - we had such a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone again, but I am drawn always back to how the girls reacted to each other. I was just amazed - it was like those girls saw each other and all fear was gone - even the girls that often are usually more shy in public. My mind says there is just no way they can remember each other, but the reality was that they reacted toward each other like it was just normal to be together. Even Chloe, who can often be clingy in public, left my side and played with her Pingjiang friends like they did it together everyday. Now, as we are all back home, I just sit and ponder ~ do they have a bond that goes back much deeper than anything I can imagine? After spending almost a year together at the beginning of their lives, many even sleeping in the same room everyday during that time, how deep does that go? I will probably never even know....but it sure was something to see.

How wonderful it would have been if you could have been in their minds for just a short time to know what they were all thinking.
OK, I would be crying now...it WAS something else to see! Can't wait to see it again. They are some pretty special girls and their bond does run deep -- and so does ours!

What a special and beautiful photograph. Your post touched me as well. For some reason it makes me kind of sad.... I guess it reminds me of how all our children had in the beginnings of their lives is the other babies with them... When my Hannah cried and was afraid I can't help but wonder if the only comfort she found was in the baby sharing her crib. It also makes me sad because she doesn't have any of her Jiangxi girls with her. And I want her to have other friends from China to grow up with.... thank you for sharing and for listening.
I think there must be bonds created- it doesn't take language, speech, or words to create that. It goes much deeper.

First of all, I LOVE that picture!!! And I do believe that our girls somehow share a bond with their China Sisters...
That picture is absolutely priceless. You could put it on greeting cards and sell them, it is so darling. What a magical time. You do have to wonder how deep their memories go and how lucky they were to have each other then and now.

382Shaggabear - we are hoping to AT LEAST do every other year - we will see, I guess. I'd love EVERY YEAR, but making a trip to TN every year would be hard for us!!

The girls in our group were all 10-11 months at adoption. One of the little girls seems particularly close to my daughter. She often talks about her and would tell her mother about our daughter at the orphanage, comments like "Emma cry in China, Emma sleep with me" Recently, we were lucky enough to get pictures of the girls while they were at the orphanage... weren't we surprised to see the girls' cribs were side by side. Could they possibly remember, we really don't think so, but... Anyhow, beautiful pic!
Hannah wasn't as clingy after a while.
