Matching Plates

You must know that we have daily catastrophes over the plates that we give Chloe. We have those Tupperware snack plates and she is FIRM in what color she wants - she DOES NOT like grey but she ALWAYS wants yellow. So, knowing that, here is a conversation heard at lunch today:

Chloe: Mom - I do not want grey. PLEASE can I have yellow??

(Yes, I forgot and gave her grey AGAIN!!!)

Mom: Chloe, you already used it so just go ahead and finish eating off of it. Next time we will have yellow.

Chloe: Ok, but you know, Grey DOES NOT match my shirt!!

So in case you didn't know eating etiquette - a plate should match your shirt!!

These girls are so funny, they know exactly what they want!
Maƫlle is almost the same, she wants the exact matching set of fork and spoon otherwise it's a no-no. Plus we have to separate the food items all the time: no rice mixed with broccoli or pasta with zucchini...

Ooops. I screwed up bigtime at dinner tonight.

Thank Chloe for giving me the scoop on fashion for meals :O)

What a little lady.

Very cute.

I've scraped food off one plate on to another more than once to avoid "but, Mom, that's not MY plate" crisis before. We have character plates (spiderman, dora, john deere, etc.) and I just can't keep track of whose is whose. I must say though, I've never had a child try to match their plate to their outfit!!

Someone should alert Miss Manners cos she has never mentioned this in any of her etiquette books and frankly I think Chloe is right!I would so love to meet your little munchkin.

Oh no...they didn't have purple plates at the Chinese buffet tonight..oooops..

Yeah, Annslee always wants the purple cup and we only have 2 so you know the drama we have too.

Chloe's reasoning cracks me up though...put her in a grey shirt tomorrow and see what happens...

Since I have been out of the loop I LOVED catching up with all your recent post!

The Wink pic is so adorable and I adore the pic with all the girls in their dresses!

My PandaGirl loves to have EVERYTHING matching, too! ; )

I can relate.... Lily needed her orange juice cup to match her purple shirt this morning.
I never knew this was necessary. I even found myself matching my cup to my shirt. Oh my....

So cute!
Lily is all about matching too -- she hasn't insisted that her plate match her shirt yet, though.
Chloe is too funny.

Well clearly grey is not a "girlie" color! Come on mom! :-) Aren't they fun? SOOO different than boys?

WHY doesn't anyone tell me these things? And here I have been eating off of plates that don't match my shirt my WHOLE LIFE! Sigh. :-)

That is too funny! These girls are very opinionated about what they want. Mallory has to have everything matching and everything in its proper place. Being a Hunan spicy girl and OCD can be a dangerous combination at our house. HAHA.
I will be sure and match our plates to our clothing tonight. :)

Thank goodness the Empress is still more concerned with getting her food from one container to another - I have to provde two! Not sure when the plate fashion consciousness will kick in - the Shoe Syndrome has and it is not so much fun! Daycare must think we are insane allowing her to attend in Pool shoes... but hey ya pick ya battles!

Cute as ever!

ROFLOL!!!!

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
