I'll be a good doobie and post an Earth Day post ~
I'm all for taking care of the Earth, in fact here are some of the things we do at our house:
~Changed our light bulbs to the squiggly more-efficient ones
~Buy energy-efficient appliances when we purchase new ones
~Turn off lights when not in use
~Recycle
~Turn our computers on Power-Save Mode
~Adjust our thermostat down a few degrees
All good things and I'm all for it - hey, it saves me a buck or two as well. BUT there are times when I just say NO - LIKE:
~Saving the whales - NOPE, but I'll jump on the bandwagon for saving unborn babies!!!
~Or THIS from Sheryl Crow - you've got to be kidding - I think she just "stepped over the line"!!! Sorry- although I teach my kids to try to use less toilet paper, I REFUSE to go to ONE SQUARE!!! OK, to be honest, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard ~ or maybe she's just got a smaller derriere than mine!!!

Hey, I'm with ya all the way and ONE square of TP!! I'd rather use a catalog, well, maybe a non glossy one :P
I've yet to change to the new squiggly light bulbs, but I know I should.I save energy by keeping the heat down. But one square of TP, NEVER!!!!!
I will save the earth some other way1
One square.....can you imagine?
Thanks for pointing out some of the lunacy involved!
Can you spare a square? Whatever, she probably uses a lot more too or she isn't very clean! GROSS
Good job Becky!! Sounds like you deifnitly helped out the Earth..lol!
The one square wouldn't work out with me either!
maybe we should all just get Chinese split pants and use NO toilet paper! (or would that be WORSE for the environment???) Oh, you can't win!
All I can say about the one square thing is that my families underwear would be NASTY! I can't go to the one square...
Hey, small booties still make poopy. No one square for me either!
one square !!!! how big is her square over there in hollywood land ... i get a little upset with earth days ... i love the earth that the Lord has blessed us with, but how come we are radical to think that unborn children are a blessing also ...
The toilet paper one cracked me up. NO way!! I'll take all the squares I need, thank you very much!!
Just getting caught up. Thanks for all the bloggerland updates, and yeah! One square is ridiculous...although Jay was just telling me that we aren't even supposed to use toilet paper at all, it isn't sanitary. We are supposed to use baby wipes? I guess I could do that -- I sure do have enough of those around!
Some friends spent time in Russia and whenever they went to a public bathroom they were issued 2 pices of paper by the attendant and always joked, one for forwards and one for reverse!
We did some freaky deaky lightbulbs too this weekend. Not so sure I like them but it is for a good cause!
I couldn't do a single square either. Bleh. Sheryl Crow probably has a dirty butt, haha.
One square makes me think about stories my father would tell us growing up. He was in the Air National Guard. In there MRAs there is sheets of toilet paper. he always told us that they would take one square fold it twice and tear off the tip. They would reserve the tip stick their finger in the hole and whipe. The tip was to use after they were done.
