Newest Bilby

Call it a weak moment - I don't know what else to call it - but darn it - we said we'll never get a dog - Joe wanted a cocker spaniel - I wanted a poodle - and we figured, never the twain shall meet. But alas, we found a Cockapoo. Who would've thought!?!?!?

We brought her home - and Chloe looked out of the window and said, "Am I dreaming or is there a puppy in our yard??" Too funny - the boys ran outside and asked whose it was - we just started laughing and they said to each other, "Don't get too attached - we probably have to give her back to someone."

So we introduce our just over six - week old puppy, Bella. Now - just encourage us that we WILL get her trained!!! She is wonderful about going potty outside - you just take her out and she immediately does her business, but she also thinks it's ok to do her business inside too - ugh!!! But already we are enjoying our pup - she is a lover and she is usually in someone's lap!

Oh she is cute! My mother has a cockapoo and he's a wonderful dog. Very sweet natured and happy....and he was very easily and well trained.

Our dogs name is Bella as well, very appropriate once her tags start jingling and it gets converted to Bells :o)

Hooray! You got a dog! I know you've secretly wanted one for a long time. And how awesome to find a "compromise". We hae a cocker spaniel that we just love, and poodles aren't supposed to shed, so it sounds like a great match! Congrats! :)

Awww! So cute!!!

Chester, my Westie took 9 months to be fully trained. :-( Hope it goes quicker for Bella! Chester rings bells by the patio door when he needs to go outside. Works out well.

OH MY GOSH THAT IS ONE DANG ADORABLE PUPPY!!!! CRATE train. I had Ransom trained in 2 weeks that way. And most dogs LOVE their crates, it's like they're own room, and dogs naturally "den". Make sure it's small while she's small- cuz if they have too much room, they'll just pee further away... but if it's smaller, they won't want to pee and be near it.

Also, TREATS and lots of praise for outside. No negative discipline when she does it inside. Just scoop her up, say no, and take her out and wait til she goes again. It really works!!

I'm so happy for you guys... dogs are the best. Bit of work at first, but you won't regret adopting her!

So cute!!!!!!!! I see the poodle in her face. She looks very much like the toy poodle I recently got. No words of advice on potty training. I'm still working on it, but know I just need to break down and crate-train.

She is pretty. Good luck with the training.
