Seeing Clearly Over Here

Ok - I survived - after almost 3 hrs - I was home and drooling all over myself as I IM' friends and family to let them know that I had, indeed, survived!! Now, at 10 pm - the novocaine is just starting to wear off - so, at this point, still not much pain. We shall see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for thinking of me and praying for me - I tried to be tough - however, I did beg the dentist to just let me go home and forget the whole thing - he didn't go for it!!!

Also wanted to fill you in on another Bilby happening this week. We were in a large mall last Friday that was having health screenings - we walked by the vision booth and, providentially, decided to have the kids checked. The boys all seemed pretty good - but Chloe was NOT so fortunate. She had one VERY poor eye, according to them, so we got her in right away on Tuesday for an eye appointment. Sure enough - she has her mama's eyes (we are getting a chuckle out of this - our three sons have no eye problems - our adopted daughter has her mom's HORRIBLE eyes!!). Chloe got to help pick out her glasses and this is what she chose:
Yes - you can't tell this from the picture - but they are PURPLE!!! She loves them and can't wait until later this week when they come in! She wore them all day with pride and her wonderful big brothers kept telling her how cute she looked in her new glasses. She was beaming!! We are so thankful we had her checked - she has astigmatisms in both eyes - and one is particularly bad. Our eye doctor said that we may have to do a patch a couple of hours a day so that her weak eye can be strengthened and not have "lazy eye" problems later. He is starting with a lesser prescription at this point as he felt she wasn't ready for the full strength yet - we are just so glad that we know and can have her checked regularly now. AND as Chloe said at supper last night, "I am just like you mommy - we BOTH have glasses!!"

Wonderful glasses! I never had any pain AFTER my root canal - none. Hope you're as lucky! There's no nerve there to have pain, right? You'll be just fine. The worst part for me was getting enough novicane to numb my mouth. He'd give me some... start working... OUCH! Stop... give me more... OUCH! Stop... give me more in the roof of my mouth... OUCH OUCH! Then no pain... lol

She is adorable Becky!! She reminds me of Chelsi....very similar story here...It was Easter Morning and I was snapping pictures like any "good Mommy" does! And when we had the developed...her left eye was turned in toward her nose! I instantly thought the worse thing possible....got on the Internet and read bad stuff...Long story short....we went to the Opthamologist on Tuesday after Easter Sunday.....and sure enough all was well...except her vision....she has a very strong correction... +3.50 in her right eye....and +4.75 in her left eye. She wore glasses until 4th grade and then wanted contacts....and has worn them ever since...but she wears the daily disposables......the Dr would not prescribe the extended wear until later in life...she said she didn't want to risk the health of Chelsi's eyes by the chance she may not get the lens clean and the subsequent possibility of causing infection or injury to the cornea.

Anyway....back to Miss Chloe....She looks adorable in her glasses....and tell her that Chelsi has a pink pair that looks very similar to her pretty purple glasses.....
SO glad you are on the Homeschool Lounge with me!!!
SO glad the root canal was a breeze...I had one when I was 12 years old...and I never had any pain or trouble at all.

Sweet Blessings dear friend!!!

I'm glad you survived your root canal! I've had so many and I have NEVER had pain after any of them. I have a good endodontist. :-)

I LOVE Chloe in glasses! I just love a little girl in glasses! I may just have one soon too - Allison's occupational therapist has suggested I have her vision tested. I need to get that appt. made soon.

Have a great day!

She's a doll! 3 out of 4 of our kids now have glasses. Jeff and I didn't have them until our late thirties and Jeff's are still only for reading! It's all that computer/video game time, I'm convinced. Hope you are still pain free today.

Oh my gosh she is so stinkin' cute in those glasses! Why weren't they that cute in 1970 when I had to get my first pair?? (I was 3 as well and "legally blind" so I had COKE bottles for lenses, you know?). I should post a pic of that if I can ever find one. I was one dorky 3 year old!

Glad your root canal was okay... hope you're still not in pain!

She looks great! I remember when our oldest (who is now 18) got her first pair of glasses. She picked purple too :-)
