Fingers Crossed
I bought this toddler bed a few weeks ago so today we got it all ready to go and put it in Chloe's room. She took her nap in it - didn't even "bawk" and even went to bed tonight in it!!!! She just smiles and says "Chloe, big bed" when we tell her it's time for bed. She's always been a great sleeper but this was much easier than I thought. She even called me after her nap today just like when she's in her crib - hey, maybe she doesn't know she can get out!!!!
Our cabin in Custer
We just loved this cabin - it had a loft where we all slept and plenty of room in the downstairs for kitchen, large bathroom and TV/Living area. We would highly recommend this spot - and Custer is so fun -lots of quaint shops, great coffee - what more could you ask for - oh yes, internet!!!! :)
See any resemblance????
Couldn't resist!!!

Gotta Love Vacations!!!
Driving wears us out!!!! Chloe thought Daddy needed a short nap with her and she was insistent they use her Dora blanket! Good thing Dad's a good sport.
I'm too "bad" for the Badlands!! :)

Just couldn't stand it - had to post more pics!!
You know you wanted to see more....
The ducks loved Chloe and she loved them!
At Sylvan Lake - the kids loved the hiking here - yes, even I hiked - I'm not afraid of exercise - I just don't like it as much as others do!!
Yes - we drove through Needles Highway - I got back in after they drove through - they didn't leave me behind!!
At Mount Rushmore - we had to prove we really made it. We even got to see it lit up at night - that was fun!
More later....

We made it!!
Well - we made it to South Dakota and CONQUERED!! We had so much fun seeing the Badlands, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore and more!! I am experiencing slight withdrawal as I have not had internet all week - but that's ok too - just couldn't update my blog!!! :) We had a super time - we decided this is the time of year to travel - not many other people and hardly any kids - we had it all to ourselves - well, almost!! We loved our cabin - we will definately do that again sometime! So - here's my big update and pics!!!

In South Dakota
Well - we're on our way - we started our trek to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands. We made it as far as Wall and yes - we are at the Wall Drug!!! We visited a great rest stop and took some pictures and stopped a few other times too - what can we say, we're travelling with kids!!

More Tulip Time
It's Tulip Time Again!!!We went down with our friends to our annual tulip festival tonight - we see it every year and it's still fun!! Chloe was getting into the whole tulip thing - she wanted to smell them all!! We caught Chloe and Maria playing in the dirt by the tulips - that was more fun than smelling them!

This is NOT Frodo's Ring!!
Ok - so this is not the best picture - but we drew the circle inside to show what shape it's supposed to be - this ring was all that was holding Joe up in the tree before he so gracefully fell - (See earlier post about Geocaching - someone asked me to post the ring picture!!) he did have his finger checked by a doctor today and we were told that all is well - no tendons ripped, etc. So we are thankful for that - but his ring needs some work before it will fit again. I have reminded him that this is his second wedding ring already!!! :) He said that is why he had to wrap a shoelace around the top of his finger to squeeze the blood back under the ring - he didn't want them to have to cut it off!! I am just glad I was not home to see all of this happening!! He saved an elderly man's life in McDonalds' with the Heimlich (that was a year ago) and now this - the boys think he's like Superman!!!

Queen of the Bilby House
This was Chloe's idea - she wanted her crown and earrings on - she barely moves her head when she's got the earrings on - so funny! She's practicing her Miss America Walk!
Happy Mother's Day to you all!!

Geocaching
While Mom is at work at the library and Chloe is at a friend's house - the men of the house are out Geocaching. Yes - you are all wondering what that is - me too - in fact, I'm still wondering!! They take a GPS unit and go out to find hidden "caches" all over our area. There was a big event today and almost 25 caches were hidden - that is not normal - usually there would just be a few. They boys went to a class on it and they were hooked, so Dad and the boys hit the fields to conquer the caches. You're gonna love this - they conquered - they found more than half of the caches, Dad nearly lost a finger (I'm not kidding about this either - you should see his wedding ring!!) AND they even brought home some free ticks!!! Glad I was at the library when all of this was happening!! :) But don't worry - I'll get my chance - they want to find caches in South Dakota when we go week after next - hmmmm, maybe I'll opt for a nap with Chloe!!! Just kidding - I plan to go and "show them how it's done!"

Flower Power
Our "Budding" Actress
We needed a model for our plant unit today and Chloe was it!! My friend and I meet weekly for Science with our kids and this unit is plants - how can you not learn about petals and stems with a face like this looking at you?!?!? She was our living, breathing specimen!

The Roads aren't Safe Anymore....but then neither are the Sidewalks!!!!
It was our first time on our new Dora trike - it does play tunes and yes, Chloe thinks it has to play the whole time she is driving!! I'm sure the neighbors love us!! And - no scooting with her feet either - she pedals the whole way - not bad for a not-quite-two-year-old.
It's Chloe the Explorer!!!
Mondays!!!
It's Definately a Monday!!! Just had to share - Like mother, like daughter - we both have the same idea when it comes to cookbooks!! :)

Fun at the Park -
this should say it all - they didn't stop smiling the whole time!! But, what's better than the park? Chloe is fearless this year - all over the ladders, slides - you name it. The girl has no fear - the boys love it!! (Dad and Mom are scared to death!!)
Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday at the Bilby's - always fun - we have a scavenger hunt and the clues lead them to their baskets - we love it and Chloe caught right on - she's so smart!!!
Just thought we'd wish everyone a Happy Easter!!

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
