Warm my Hair

After Chloe's bath the other night, I told her to wait a minute as I wanted to brush her hair. When I was finished brushing, she just kept standing there and I told her she could go now to which she replied, "Mom, I need you to warm my hair." Warm her hair - that was new to me, I wasn't sure what she meant so I asked her to explain that to me. She held up her hand and moved it all around her head and said, "That thing that blows air in my hair." The HAIR DRYER!!!! I love it - so yes, I did "warm her hair"!!!

how smart they are ... emily says "blow my hair" ... although it is really hard to do it while she dances around the air ...

Caroline always says, "dry my hair" too. With her, it sounds like a command, though :)

When we were in Beijing staying with Wendy and her family (one of my exchange students), I asked her mother if she had a blow dryer and she didn't speak English and I didn't speak Chinese so I pantomimed blow-drying my hair (complete with blowing) and she promptly got me a dryer! Viola!International communication!

Enjoy your day!

So sweet! I have let my hair get pretty long right now and I can't stand the feel of it laying on my back when it's wet & cold. So I understand completely!

So cute! It's funny, I have memories of my mom "warming my hair" when I was little. The little things mean so much!

What a great way to look at such a simple, almost meaningless task that I engage in daily. I won't soon forget this. I'll "warm my hair" from this day forward!

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
