Chick Magnet

I am still laughing over this little episode today - I happened upon the boys discussing an earlier event where a teenager had driven her car up, parked and, Micah felt, couldn't take her eyes off of him!! He goes on to tell me, "Yeah, Mom, she just kept looking at me and then she'd look away, and then she'd look back. I could tell that chick was diggin' me!" I asked him how he knew this to which he responded, "It's the eyes, Mom - you can tell by their eyes!" Of course, during this whole conversation, our younger two boys are laughing their heads off - telling me how funny it was and how Micah was all embarrassed. (He didn't sound embarrassed to me!!!) And the funniest part of this, to me, is that my boys never even talk about girls - so where this came from is BEYOND me!! But our 11 year old now firmly believes he has teenage girls "diggin'" him!!! So here I am laughing my head off and my husband is ready to sit him down and have a chat about respecting women - Joe does not like it that they refer to women as "chicks". I love it - all we have to look forward to BUT most of all I love it that their Dad is so adamant that they respect women and treat them like they should be treated - not as the world so often treats them!!! Ok - it was worth a good laugh, but maybe makes me think too.....

Oh Becky, now that I have spent some time with the boys, I can just see this whole thing. TOOOO FUNNY!! I will have to have Erin read that. Oh, did Micah think Erin was making eyes at him too??? She is an older woman, ya know ;)

We have the same issues with our 9 year old son. The word respect is the first thing we are also trying to teach them! hey are so young...too young! What a world! They get exposed to so much at school, they are not getting it at home!

That's great......next year is the year though....Emmie said this year in 7th grade, the boys are just bonkers over the girls! And when you have a daughter that looks like I do......the boy issue doesn't make me happy! lol

That was so funny, Becky!
It's all in the eyes, huh????

And, let me say again, your husband ROCKS. He is going to make sure your boys treat women right. I love it. What a guy!

Way too funny! He is a cutie though. Well, Mr. Tyler at our house has proclaimed that "Chicks dig me". And he is adored by girls his own age. We haven't had an 'older woman encounter'. Hats off to their father who is leading them to be good men.
I tell you, raising boys is an adventure!

Oh that is funny. Is that what it's like to have boys? I love that your husband is teaching the boys about respecting women. I think it is so important to have a great example like that.

What a cute story and how wonderful that your hubby is such a neat guy to teach the little dude his "girl manners".

Boy that is so funny, Micah is coming to that age. Tell Joe I am proud of him, for teaching the boys to respect women. It is so much fun to see them growing up. And with their looks and their personality, you will have lots of girls trying for their affection.
Good luck Love Mv

Hilarious! It reminds me of my kindergartner who came home & used dad's deoderant so he could "smell better for his special lady"...yikes! Watch out. You'll wake up tomorrow and they'll be getting married.

When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
