Leaving Our Friends

We had such a great time with our friends - we hardly wanted to leave - I know, they were ready to push us out though!!! They provided us with such a wonderful weekend - we had a great time together. We are blessed with dear friends.

Our Chinese New Year celebration was such fun - this is just a taste of the fun...more to come!

Chinese New Year Books Post #2

Because I have been asked a few times for recommendations on books for Chinese Celebrations, I'm going to post a bunch here - this will be a long post, sorry. I am also posting them this way so that in case you were interested in buying them from Amazon - if you click here off of my site then I can earn money towards our next adoption. This is from a previous post with NEW ADDITIONS added on the beginning of the links. So, here goes:

Nuggets

It's my two nuggets of knowledge today!!

1st - I JUST GOT IN THE MAIL - Grace Lin's newest book - Bringing in the New Year - and I LOVE IT!! I know, just because I always love a Grace Lin book doesn't mean I always will, but yes, again, she has done it!! This is a fun children's read on Chinese New Year - in very simple terms she prepares for the big holiday. And, as usual, her illustrations are ALL THAT AND MORE!!! If you are interested in purchasing it through Amazon - click on my link here and it does go toward our next adoption!

2nd - A Christmas gift I couldn't live without (or at least I would miss it greatly!!). And yes, I'll admit RIGHT OFF THE BAT, that I am probably the only wife in the world that wanted a mouse (yes, I would love a LIVE one too -that's another story) for Christmas. BUT, I did. I am totally loving my Logitech MX Revolution mouse.
So there are my tidbits for the day - for what it's worth!

Erin and the Girls

Yep, Mya's sister, Erin, was at the Chinese New Year as well. The girls LOVED sitting by her and playing ring-around-the-rosie with her too!! I think Chloe was enjoying a "big girl" to play with - since we only have boys over here!!

Chinese New Year

Well - they didn't cancel!! We were so glad - that is such a fun celebration - we had such a great time with our China travelmates - the Anderson's!! What a treat - EVEN more reason to celebrate!!! So here are some pictures - I think since they are still celebrating in China - I'll celebrate this whole week with pictures from our weekend - I took plenty - just ask Verna!!!!

Chloe and Mya posing by the Dragon - see how cooperative they were - really all they wanted to do was play - they really hit it off!! Two peas in a pod!!

By the way - we did leave tonight - headed home and the snow started again - as we saw cars going into the ditch before our eyes, we wisely decided to call it a night and plan to finish it up tomorrow morning!! It's ok though - we had a great time - and we were all ready to stop and sleep anyway - bad weather or no bad weather - some things are just worth doing!!!
When you are harvesting your crops and forget to bring in a bundle of grain from your field, don't go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigners, orphans and widows. Then the LORD your God will bless you in all you do.
